Hang It on the Wall

To help me get through some of these crazy hot days with 3 children, I have been looking for little projects to do. We have been spending a lot of time in our basement. We have a bounce house to help get out some of that extra energy when we can not really go out to play. The challenge this week (from Made it on Monday) is to hang it on the wall. I have thought about hanging a real chalkboard in the basement for the kids to use. I did not know how I wanted to hang it as I did not not want to drill holes into the concrete (basement is unfinished). I also did not want to hang it from the ceiling. I remembered that I had chalkboard paint left over so I 'hung' a chalkboard by painting on the concrete wall. If/When we finish the basement, we can just cover it with a wall.

Flip Flop Flip

Do you love to wear flip flops? Are you like me and hate the plastic flip flop strap? I will not wear flip flops with the plastic strap. I was super excited to find this idea from Make It and Love It. I found my butterfly flip flops on sale for less than $1. I used a left over piece of knit to make my new comfy flip flops.

Now to go paint my toenails

Outdoor or Indoor Activites

Catch

This mommy loves to play softball. I wanted to work, I mean, practice our hand/eye coordination so I wanted something to play ball. A regular ball glove would not work as my 4 year old broke her wrist and can not put the glove over her cast. So, I used an emptied out milk jug to make a 'glove' to play catch. All I did was cut the bottom of the jug off using scissors. Both of my 6 yr old and 4 yr old love trying to catch with this milk jug because the handle is easy to hold.
We also used a flat Frisbee and try to roll the ball onto this frisbee. Similar to the game Bocce, but using frisbee to make it easier to see for the kids.

These games can be played outside or inside using a nerf type ball.

I am linking to Make in by Monday for the Monday Challenge.

Girl Dresses

I know, I know. I haven't posted any pics of what I've been working on lately. We have been super busy the past few weeks and even busier on the weekends. I made a few dresses for a friend's little girl. I also made something for me! I'll write that post after I get a pic of the finished summer dress. :)

Back to the girl dresses... I made 4 dresses for one little girl. They are size 3T/4T. I wanted each to be a little different. The pink with white flowers and the white with blue flowers are my favorite. I love the little detail that I added around the waist of the one with blue flower.
