Minnie Mouse Cake

My youngest is 3.

How is that possible?

Here she is in her finished Dress and Ears.

I also made her a gluten free Minnie Mouse Cake.  It was both white and chocolate.  The white cake mix was Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free White Cake Mix.  The chocolate was Betty Crocker's Gluten Free Chocolate Cake Mix

Minnie Mouse for the Birthday Girl

Someone is almost 3 years old.

She told me she wanted a Minnie and Mickey Mouse Cake for her party.

Then she informed she needed to have ears with bows like Minnie Mouse ...

and a Minnie Mouse dress.

Homemade Christmas 2012

Another Homemade Christmas...

Another apron for my girls.  The aprons are personalized with their intials.  These are made from repurosed jeans.  Here is a tutorial for the jean apron.

A rose scarf - this is made from felt.  I sewed the scalloped circles together to make the flowers.  Then I sewed the flowers to the felt scarf.  This could be a no sew project by using a glue gun.

A friend of mine asked if I could make a dress for her daughter out of some material that she had.  This is what I made.  From what I hear, the daughter loves it!

Snow White

It seems like a lot of people are going to Disney.
(We are not going to Disney any time soon...still working on paying off our debt. )
Some friends have been asking me if I can make Disney dresses.  You may remember the Disney pillowcase dress/outfit that I made.  Another friend asked about a Snow White Dress.

I was putting off making this dress for one reason...elastic thread.  There I said it.  I was afraid.  Turns out it was nothing to be afraid of.  :)  Now my 2 girls also want a Snow White Dress.

If you would like to learn to use elastic thread, here is a tutorial.

Another comfy dress....

Can you believe that is March already?

I made this dress at the end of last summer.  I used some left over knit from this project for the top of the dress and straps.  The straps are braided

Another RePurpose for a T-Shirt

I have a few shirts that I love but I do not wear anymore. My youngest is outgrowing her summer clothes. So, I decided to turn my shirt into a dress for her. I originally planned to make this like a pillow case dress using ribbon. However, when I saw this dress (make it and love it), I changed how I was going to make the straps. I used the 5 braided pieces for a collar instead. This shirt is now a comfy dress for my youngest.

Dress for a 1st Birthday

I've been bitten by the crafty bug. I felt that my youngest needed something to wear to make her 1 st birthday special. My first thought was to put the number 1 on a shirt. I didn't have a plain white shirt in her size. So, I grabbed 2 shirts that my older daughter could no longer wear and cut them down to fit my youngest. After remaking the shirt and adding a 1, I decided to add a ruffle to make it a dress. Then I thought it needed something more, so another ruffle. I also added the little flower. I also picked out the pink/purple flower headband that I made a few months ago.
