Scared-y Cat

So I let my 4 yr old pick out material for Halloween. She wanted a long dress with a tie in the back . I was hoping that I would be able to get by with making just a skirt...She was set on having a dress...So, this is what I made...

Check out his 6 pack

My son told me what he wanted to be for Halloween. Really? Halloween already?

He then also told me how to make the shorts...

Any guesses ... Who does my son want to be this year?

A Circle Skirt

My 4 yr old daughter loves to twirl her dresses. She asked for a super-twirly skirt. I found this easy tutorial over at MADE. This circle skirt was just as easy to make as a simple gathered skirt.

She loves how it moves!

Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

Lately, I've had a lot of ripe bananas. I usually make banana bread or banana muffins but I'm a little tired of always making the same thing. So, my first attempt was a recipe for healthy banana bars (like granola). They were a big fail. Then, I came across a recipe on allrecipes.com for Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies. So I gave them a try. I love them! Even my kids love them! They are super soft and probably my new favorite cookie. Want to try them? Here is the recipe

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup white sugar
2/3 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup mashed bananas
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda together, and set aside. Cream the butter with the sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Mix in the mashed bananas. Add the flour mixture, and stir until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls on cookie sheets. Bake in preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes.

Enjoy!

Easy leggings

During my latest cleaning spree, I came across an old maternity tank top of mine. Hmmm...comfy knit material...what do I use you for? Ah, longer leggings for my youngest daughter. I grabbed a pair of legging that fit great around her waist, but are a little to short for her, to use as a pattern. These will be great to wear with or without a skirt and being black I can match to just about everything in her closet (which she will be getting her own closet in about a month!)

BOO! My little Ghost Shirt

BOO! Did my 3 little ghosts scare you? I saw this idea over at Nothing But Country and thought it would be cute for my youngest.
Super Cuteness!

Then I realized that I would love a shirt with the prints of my 3 kids. (And if I loved it, wouldn't Nana and Grandma love one too?) Only one of three would let me paint their foot...guesses to which one?? Instead of painting their feet, I traced feet on paper and made stencils. It was actually easier (and less of a clean up) to make the stencil. I even made shirts for Nana and Grandma.

So, surprise Nana!

Easy Skirt

Remember this post about making a new dress from an old dress. I finally remember to take a picture of my daughter wearing the skirt I made from the material I cut off.

Fabric Flowers

So I found these fabric flowers over at Make It and Love It. I made one of these and just loved it! The first one I made I put it it in my 4yr old's hair and took her to PreK. Wouldn't you know it, she lost it. So I made some more. I gave one of these cute little flowers as a birthday gift to my friend's daughter (my little model). My sister in law asked me to make her one...hmm, perhaps a Colt's blue one? Maybe I should start selling these?

Pink Tractor

My new fave thing....Freezer Paper!

Using freezer paper as a stencil to paint this little pink tractor for my youngest was super easy! My youngest daughter loves tractors. (Tractor was one of her first words after dog and ball. ) I could not find a girl tractor shirt for her so I made one.
