Ruffle Fabric - Skirt, Bag, and Bikini

I love this ruffle fabric!  I was able to test the Kayleigh Skirt pattern for Brynnberlee Designs.  I picked up this yellow 1 inch ruffle fabric at Hancock's.  I made this skirt for my youngest!  The directions to make this skirt are very easy to follow.  While I was making it, my older daughter fell in love with it and asked if I could make one for her also.  So...

I made one for my older daughter too.  The pattern only goes to a 5T so I used a skirt that fits my older daughter to use as a pattern.   I am also planning on making a similar skirt for my oldest's baby doll.

I made me a new bag with the ruffle fabric.  I am ready to go on my cruise now.  :)

I also added some ruffles to a little onesie for a new little baby.  I call this my "Daddy approved Bikini."

So Sick

My youngest has not been feeling well (since before Thanksgiving).  She has been on various medicines for ear infections and strep.  Oh, and the coughing fits...steroids for that.  Since she isn't sleeping well, this momma isn't sleeping well.  I don't know about you, but I have a hard time remembering things if I do not get enough sleep.  Did I remember to give my youngest her medicine?  Times that by 3 when all of my children are sick.

I happened to come across this idea on Pinterest.  Using a sharpie, I mark it right on the bottle.

Ready, Aim, Fire!

Ready...

Aim....

 FIRE!!!

I took an easy route on this cake and used the Angry Bird and Pigs from the game, Knock on Wood.

My son wanted a pinata for his party.  The black bird is my son's favorite.  So I also made a black bird pinata.

Mudball Cookies

Mudball Cookies

1 cup quick cooking oats
½ cup broken pecans
½ cup instant cocoa mix
½ cup peanut butter
½ c honey
1 cup graham cracker crumbs

Mix oats, nut pieces, and instant cocoa mix in a large bowl.  Add peanut butter and honey.  Mix everything in the bowl until it looks like mud.  Place graham cracker crumbs on a sheet of waxed paper.  Take 1 teaspoon or cookie mixture at a time and roll in your hands to make a ball.  Roll the cookies balls in the cracker crumbs and place on a paper place or baking sheet.  Store in the refrigerator.

Christmas Picture Block Ornament

When decorating our Christmas tree, I love looking at the pictures of my children from years past.  This year, I saw this idea on Pinterest and decided to make some for Grandparents, Great Grandparents, Uncles, and Aunt.

You may either purchase craft blocks from the store or I opted to make my own from a deck banister.  I pulled out my husband's power saw and went to work cutting blocks.  I also drilled a hole through each block for the string.  I used Krylon black spray paint to paint each block.  Using my computer, I printed each child's name with the year to add to a side of each block.  A few pics, some mod podge, a few beads, and string and here the finished project.

Another Christmas Gift - Army Apron

For Christmas, I made my SIL a new apron.  I used an old pair of my husband's army pants.   I trimmed the apron with pink and added a pink ruffle to the bottom.   I added some iron on bling to the pocket (which was the cargo pocket).

Grandkids...Make Life Grand

Now that Christmas is over, I can post a few of the gifts that I made.  I made these for the Grandparents.  Here is a simple one that I found on Pinterest.   Yes, I pulled out the husband's power tools for this one.  :)  I found some extra wood and cut it to size.  I have been staining the our deck (little by little) and used stain for this board.
